CBD 4 Me – Your Guide to Understanding CBD
CBD can be confusing. Different products use different formulations, strengths, ingredients and manufacturing methods, while information about CBD online can range from useful scientific research to exaggerated marketing claims.
CBD 4 Me is our consumer knowledge hub, created to help make CBD easier to understand.
Rather than simply telling you which CBD product to buy, we want to give you the information you need to understand what you are looking at and make your own informed choices.
That means exploring the questions that really matter:
What is CBD? How do different CBD products compare? What does strength and concentration actually mean? How can you assess the quality and transparency of a CBD product? What does current UK guidance say? And when CBD is discussed in relation to health, what does the scientific evidence actually show?
CBD 4 Me brings those subjects together in one structured resource, allowing you to explore CBD at whatever level of detail is useful to you.
Clear information. Transparent evidence. Informed choices.
Understanding CBD Shouldn’t Be Complicated
A bottle or packet labelled CBD tells you surprisingly little about the product inside.
CBD products can differ in their cannabinoid formulation, ingredients, concentration, product format, manufacturing process and the information available to verify what they contain.
Then there is the terminology.
Terms such as CBD isolate, broad spectrum, full spectrum, cannabinoids, carrier oils, milligrams, concentration, CoA, Novel Food and the endocannabinoid system can quickly make a relatively simple purchasing decision feel much more complicated.
CBD 4 Me has been designed to break those subjects down into understandable pieces.
You don’t need to learn everything about CBD before choosing a product. But you should be able to find clear information when you want it — and understand why one CBD product may not necessarily be equivalent to another.

Understanding CBD involves more than knowing what CBD stands for.
We’ve divided CBD 4 Me into dedicated knowledge areas, each answering a different set of questions about CBD.
CBD Knowledge
Understand the fundamentals.
Explore what CBD is, where it comes from, cannabinoids, CBD isolate, CBD oil, strength and concentration, and some of the terminology commonly used when discussing CBD.
CBD Product Education
Understand the products.
Learn about different CBD product formats, how they are formulated and the practical differences between CBD oils, gummies, capsules, water-soluble products, topicals and other ways CBD is supplied.
Quality, Testing & Traceability
Understand what you’re buying.
Explore CBD purity, laboratory testing, Certificates of Analysis, manufacturing standards, batch information, ingredients and traceability — and learn what information can help you assess a CBD product.
CBD Safety & UK Guidance
Understand the guidance.
Explore current UK CBD guidance, safety considerations, CBD and medication, drug testing, responsible intake and the regulatory framework surrounding consumer CBD products.
CBD Research & Evidence
Understand the science.
Explore what scientific research has investigated about CBD, how strong the evidence actually is, the limitations of individual studies and why research into CBD should not automatically be interpreted as proof that a consumer CBD product can treat a medical condition.

Why We Created CBD 4 Me
There is no shortage of information about CBD online. The difficulty is understanding which information is relevant, what it actually tells you and how it applies to the CBD products available to consumers.
CBD can appear in scientific research, regulatory guidance, product information and marketing — but these are not the same thing.
A scientific study may investigate a particular cannabinoid, formulation or dose under controlled conditions. Consumer CBD products can differ considerably in their composition, concentration, ingredients and intended use. UK guidance also has its own role, helping consumers understand the regulatory and safety considerations surrounding CBD products.
CBD 4 Me was created to separate those questions and make each one easier to understand.
When we discuss research, we look at what was actually studied, what researchers found and the limitations of the evidence.
When we discuss CBD products, we look at their formulation, strength, ingredients and the information available about how they were manufactured and tested.
When we discuss safety or regulation, we look to current UK guidance and clearly distinguish this from marketing claims or general information found elsewhere online.
Our aim isn’t to make CBD more complicated.
It’s to give you clearer information with which to make your own informed choices.
Not All CBD Products Are the Same
Two products can both be described as CBD products while differing significantly in what they actually contain.
They may use different cannabinoid formulations, contain different concentrations of CBD, use different carrier ingredients, be supplied in different product formats or provide different levels of information about their manufacture and testing.
That is why understanding a CBD product involves looking beyond the number printed on the front of a bottle.
Depending on the product, useful information can include its CBD content and concentration, cannabinoid composition, ingredients, batch identification, laboratory documentation, manufacturing information and traceability.
These details can help consumers understand what they are buying and make more meaningful comparisons between products.
This doesn’t mean that one type of CBD product is automatically suitable for everyone, or that product documentation proves a particular health benefit.
It means there is more to understanding a CBD product than simply knowing that it contains CBD.

CBD Research and Consumer CBD Products Are Not the Same Thing
CBD is the subject of a growing body of scientific research, but it is important to understand what that research can — and cannot — tell us about consumer CBD products.
A study may investigate CBD or other cannabinoids using a particular formulation, dose, method of administration or carefully controlled research conditions.
That does not mean that every product containing CBD is equivalent to the product or substance used in that research.
It also does not mean that research into CBD for a particular health condition proves that a consumer CBD product can prevent, treat or cure that condition.
This distinction is important.
Scientific evidence tells us what researchers have investigated and what their studies found. Product information tells us what we know about the CBD product we are actually buying.
CBD 4 Me keeps those two questions separate.
Our CBD Research & Evidence Hub examines published research, the strength and limitations of the available evidence and the important differences between scientific studies and consumer CBD health claims.

How We Approach CBD Information
CBD 4 Me is designed to provide clear, useful information without presenting assumptions, marketing language or emerging research as established fact.
When creating and reviewing our content, we aim to distinguish between:
Scientific research — what has actually been investigated, how the research was conducted and what conclusions the evidence reasonably supports.
Consumer product information — what a particular CBD product contains, including its formulation, concentration, ingredients and supporting product documentation.
UK guidance and regulation — current information from relevant UK authorities about CBD products, safety and the regulatory framework.
Marketing claims — statements about what a product can supposedly do, which should not be confused with scientific evidence or information about the product itself.
Where evidence is limited, conflicting or still developing, we aim to make that clear.
Where UK guidance changes, we aim to review and update the relevant information within CBD 4 Me.
And where we discuss an Incr-edibles product, we want the information used to describe it to be supported by information about that product — not assumptions based simply on the fact that it contains CBD.
Our approach is simple: explain what is known, identify what isn’t, and give you the information to make your own informed choices.
